She has worked closely with students served by UNCP Counseling and Psychological Services providing both individual and group therapy. Claudia’s therapeutic approach is holistic, integrating approaches to wellness, in mind and spirit. Her theoretical foundations are in feminist theory and person-centered therapy; integrating techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Theory (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI) and Mindfulness strategies to reduce anxiety and stress symptoms. Claudia has a special interest in helping clients to reduce trauma symptoms associated with PTSD and is developing a skill set using Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing therapy (EMDR) to better serve her clients. She looks forward to working with you!
